I want you to know that you are not alone! There are those of us in the nations who stand with you – not with empty words, but with prayers – day and night, as you are being attacked.
Our hearts broke with yours as Eyal, Gilad and Naftali went missing. We joined in your prayers and hopes then, and mourned with you when your boys were found. We felt some relief in at least knowing, at last, and understanding that their ordeal was of short duration, though our grief remains.
Now, while your valiant soldiers are finally battling against the evil that has plagued your country too long, we are with you as well. Many of us have our phones set to go off with the sound of sirens whenever they are heard in your land, so we will be alerted to plead again with the Almighty for His protection over you all. We wake through the night, with the alarms, hearts racing, to cry out for mercy for you all, and divine peace.
You are a light to the nations, as true descendants of Abraham, and we thank you for being there, in the land of your covenant, and thereby showing us all evidence that there is a God who does keep His promises!
We in the nations are told by the prophet Isaiah to strengthen the weak hands and make firm the feeble knees, to say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong! Fear not!” Your God – the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob – reigns, and He will come and save you! (Is. 35, 52). We are here to bless and strengthen you with our prayers and encouragement, and we rejoice with you at the miraculous protection you are experiencing at God’s hands, through the tool of the “Iron Dome”
As Aaron and Hur did for Moses, know that we are here, holding up your hands when you become weary, though the battle still rages.
May your shalom come speedily, and may it be of long endurance!
